I recently bought a 1997 Honda fourtrax 300 2x4. The previous owner did not have the owner's manual so I need to have a few questions answered and you guys are the best resource I have.
1. How do you put this ATV into reverse?
2. Can you put bigger tires and wheels on it?
3. It came with a warn winch on it, it is not working right now. Is there a company that will look at them?
4. What is the crankcase oil capacity?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

if there is a red button on or near the left brake lever you need to depress that and squeeze the brake lever then downshift it will then be in reverse.......(MUST BE IN NEUTRAL BEFORE PUTTING IN REVERSE!!!)....to come back out of reverse just shift up.....

to put it in reverse push the button on the back hand brake lever and pull in as far as u can and shift down. it holds 2 and a half quarts of oil im pretty sure. you can put bigger tires on it but ull lose some power. couldnt tell ya bout the winch though.

Thanks guys for all the info. It went into reverse just like you said. About the oil level, I put two quarts into it and it is reading full on the dipstick so I will just continue to monitor it. I think I will keep the tires the same due to turning radius. One other question though, What is the best silencer to put on it? I want something that gives it more power but not too loud. I see a lot of different types but they are advertised for the 4x4. Will they still fit a 2x4?
