Has anyone here tried it, and if so what kind of results did you see? What Company would you recommend? Thanks

Yea, I did that. I had my '91 250X bored & stroked to 318. I also had it ported, big valves, oil cooler, rev box, & carb. It cost over $2000 for everything but it would smoke a stock Banshee. The only downside is you have to spend nearly as much to upgrade the suspension to handle the extra HP. If I were to do it again I'd have Rick Ritter (RCR) do it.

I have an 87' 250X engine with a Pro Fab ATV 365 National kit. Very fast! It can run toe to toe with 440EX's, Piped Banshee's, modded Raptor's, etc. But there are a lot of negatives. Expensive to build, lots of maintenance, runs on race gas, too much power for stock chassis, needs a big-bore aftermarket carb, etc.
If your serious about modding out a Honda 4-stroke engine. Give Scott at Pro Fab a call (740)654-0734. or visit them at (http://www.profabatv.com/). Tell him Chris Stark sent ya.

My '87 X is bored out to 288cc's. I'm running the 330 kit for the EX's. I've got a ported head, race cam, stiffer valve springs, oversize valves, race exhaust, and carb. Next winter when I get some more $ I'll throw in a stroker depending on how hard of a time I have racing this summer.

Thanks for the replies, I never realized that my 250X could be made to go so fast. I am pretty excited about doing this now. What kind of chassis mods are necessary to handle the engine mods?

These are my chassis mods Durablue Eliminator 2+2 rear axle, 88 250R A-Arms, works shocks, and the stock tires that were offered on the R's and 400EX's, and a RAD Dual row bearing carrier.

One of my riding buddies had a SWEET conversion quad. You guys that have been here a while might remember him.. His name was SwiNdLeR.. He had a Pro-X 330X motor stuffed in an 88 250R frame. That quad was AWESOME! To see pictures, You can go to MX Quad.com and click on "Hot Hondas".. His is the one with 12" front wheels. If you like, I can get the specs on it for you.
