I agree that the LEM's are awesome bikes, and they can be built to put out around 17hp (with a 70cc big bore)which is crankin for a 50cc class bike, but they sure are small-even for someone 4'11". Seat heights are between 20 and 30 inches. Check out their website for more details.

Go and check out the YZ85, I think it will interest you if you want some power in a small package. I am 5'4 about 135 and it can easily move me around with TON's of power to spare. If the seat is a little high you can always cut the foam down and reshape the seat or soften the shock a bit to make it fit. I have never riden a XR100 but my buddie has a XR200 and I have been on it a bunch and it does not have very much power. The 2 stroke 80's will beat it without trying, I do know that much.
What are your feelings on the 400ex VS. the Raptor? I am looking to get a second machine and am looking at both of them. I would consider the C-dale but am concerned with getting parts 5 years down the road. I know Honda and Yamaha will be around and building bikes, but will C-dale still be building motors? (This is not a slam on C-Dales I have a F2000 Mnt. bike of theirs and love it).

Code54 - been thinking seriously about the bike for a few days and got to agree, better to get the two stroke than a four stroke. The Yamaha-motor home page gave good info on the bike, except didn't mention the seat height. I know I fit on an XR100 comfortably - don't know how close in height they are. Got a Yamaha dealer just down the road, will go see them soon and find out.
400EX vs Raptor? well, to be honest I haven't ridden a Raptor. I have heard bad things about the 2001 model, and some good about the 2002 model. I decided what was best for me was to get the 400EX and modify her later. (off the top of my head I can't remember all the bad things i've heard about the '01 Raptor - I can tell you that they are already showing up in used cycle shops and I've seen alot of them for sale on the net - lots of people aren't keeping them)

go with the 400ex, dont even think about the 300. i love a 300ex, i had mine built to the hilt and it was an awesome quad. by the time you put in a bigger carb, redo the airbox, port your heads and get a a valve job, then test jetting until u get it just perfect, and eventually bore it out to a 323, 330, 345, or even 395, then buy new shocks, extend your a-arms and swingarm, and axle, and geta new bearing carrier for it, you've got about the baddest quad around, then u start to realize, hey, i've got 4,000 dollars in extra's for my 300ex. u realize u could have bought a 400ex and then put 4,000 dollars into it and had 3 times the quad. i've been through all this. i loved my 300ex, heck, still wish i had it sometimes, but if i woulda started out with the 400ex in the first place, i already woulda been ahead of myself. you can see in my signature that im goin for the 400ex next time, even though the 300 is a great quad, the 400 just makes more sense.
