I need to get my frame and various other parts powdercoated, and i was wondering how much it would cost. How much? Also, for the NC people out there, who powdercoats in NC?

I'm having mine done soon, but it will be free... So I can't really help you out. Does anyone know the best way to tape up/seal ball joints? Thanks

Before you take your frame to be powder-coated, have a qualified person sand-blast it clean for you. This will remove all of the dirt, grease, and old paint from the frame so that the powder-coat will stick better. Try to setup the sand-blasting and powder-coating times close together, because a bare frame will start to rust after a few days if keep in a humid enviroment(ie. outside, in a garage or basement) I've had two frames done. Expect to pay $50 dollars for the sand-blasting, and $150 for the powder-coating. Try to find someone local to do the work for you. Because if you decide to ship the frame somewhere, it will cost you $50 dollars each way to send. Also, this is a pretty big job. A quad frame has many sides and angles that are tough to get at. Make sure the person you hire is qualified for the job. Finally, ask your powder-coater if you can help with some of the labor. My local guy gives me a roll of the high temp tape and a box of plugs and lets me prep the frame myself. This saves me money in the long run and re-assures me that all of the critical treads and mounting holes remain clear of the powder-coat.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
