250 v's bigbore

ESR doesn't make any kit smaller than a 310 i believe. They go from 310 to 370. So i guess you could call up LRD or another company that makes reputable 265's. If your gonna be racing, you might want to look at ESR's TRX 6 pipe, i've heard it produces loads of bottom end power which you would need on the tight track you said you ride.
Lonestarbanshee,
Eventually when i have to rebore my cylinder(it's at .050 over now), i'm considering a larger bore. I liked the ESR 310, but yall make it sound like a 265 would be better for me. I'll be riding trails, and some open straight. As for racing, maybe just play racing. Would i be able to notice the power increase by the 265? or should i go for a 310?

oz_400EX, Hondman85 is right. The only engine kits available from ESR are 310 and up. If I were in your shoes, Im not really sure who would do my motor. Denton has produced national winning motors, while mostly all of the top pro MXers today are using LRD's 265. If you have the money, I would shop around and try to find an engine that fits your needs. I know from Australia that can be hard, but you get most of your questions answered over the internet.
If money is not an object, I would opt for a PowerValved engine. If noone in here had one, you could figure out that a powervalved engine is better than one without by taking a look at MX bikes. Honda started putting powervalves on their bikes in 96 or 97 I believe, and they're the strongest motor they've ever produced.
Hondaman85 is right about the pipe. I have heard nothing but great remarks about ESR pipes. The TRX-5 is said to have strong power all over the powerband, while the TRX-6 lacks topend, but gives alot more bottom.
Hondaman85:
I know you would be able to notice the power gain, if the engine is done right. To get the full effect of the 265, you would need to have your cylinder ported/polished, a bigger carb with correct jetting, and some more stuff that you probably already have. But, yes, I think you would be happy with a 265, or 310. A friend of mine has a 330R setup by Texarkana Honda, that thing SCREAMS. It is unreal at the power it has. We were riding side by side on the blacktop one day, and I shifted into 6th, hammered the throttle and the front tires came off the ground!!

You guys are wrong. Esr does make a 265 kit. I saw it in a dirtwheels magazine and in there catalog, its not on their web site though for some reason. Sign up for a free catalog on their web site and it will be in there. They come fully ported, a billet head body, 1 head dome, a new piston kit, all gaskets, O-rings a new hardware for $849.
1986 honda trx250r - esr trx 5 pipe and silencer, rear razr's on douglas rims, renthal bars, ac skid plate, ac front bumper with mud screen, more to come

I could be wrong, but, i've always thought that the ported 265's that people use were more on the top end side(faster tracks), and the 310 or 330 was better in the low end(for slower, technical tracks). Just a thought, call ESR or LRD and they could probably tell you what would be best for your application.
