400EX cold start up engine noise/ compression #'s
#1
I recently bought a 99' 400EX that appears to have been raced in its past.
The bike runs very strong, and sounds good.
I changed the oil and filter last night,(honda 10W-40) then started it and let it idle for 2-4 mins, they she went to bed.
When I cold started it this morning it seemed to make some engine noise/ticking slightly lounder than what I would consider normal. It quieted down suddenly after 30-40 seconds of its high cold idle. All was good during the 15-20 mile ride, and the oil still looked clean and full upon return.
I plan on doing a compression test soon. What kind of cylinder pressures are normal for a stock 400?
