Does any one know why my I have to touch the throttle before I am able to engage Drive or Low range on my Rubicon. Is it a simple fix or do I have to visit my dealer. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

mine does the same thing but i have no idea why.

 

Sorry man for no help, mine is the same way maybe all are like that.

 

This is perfectly normal. Idle speed will affect how much gas you need to give it or how hard it is to get into gear. Bascially giving it gas just aligns the gears...nothing to worry about.

 

Mine does this also,it will quickly become second nature to tap the throtle when you shift.

They don't bother with synchronizers for 'rarely used' direct gear mesh combos. Perfectly normal, try driving an old three speed unsynced coulomb shift vehicle for more fun than a barrel of monkeys, or maybe one converted to a standard stick.
