I am going to buy a new ATV and I'm not sure what to buy. I do alot of riding on wood trails and the 400EX not having reverse I thought it might be a pain in the butt. The 300EX is a nice machine but it lacks the 400EX power. Do you really need reverse?

 

Nope.

Get the 400.

 

300EX is great .

but if you have another 1500 -doing nothing.

Get the 400EX - and you'll look back at the 300EX like it was an LT80.

 

I think I am going to buy the 400EX. Do you have any suggetions on what aftermarket pipe would be the best to buy to add performance?

 

The 300EX is a great machine, but the 400EX has a ton more power and better overall. If you got the money go for the 400EX.
