Don't go with the 300. You'll outgrow it's power in a week.
The 400 has twice the power and much better handling.
Do yourself a favor and spring the extra bucks for the 400 -
you won't regret it.

hey, i agree that the 400ex is a better, more powerfull quad,, but, i'm startin to get tired of hearin ppl bash the 300ex.for some ppl, the feel of the 300ex is better. the seat height, geometry, and size may just feel right to them more than the 400ex. i'll prolly wind up goin with the 400ex this summer, but, i like the feel of the 300ex better. right now i'm havin a hard time debating whether i should go with the 400, or get the 300ex and putin a powroll 352 stroker kit, then buy used 400ex a-arms, swingarm, and shocks. i can do all that to my 300ex and have less money in it than i will have in a stock 400ex, and have a better quad. if you'd rather see the guy get a 400ex, tell him and give him logical reasons, but dont bash on the 300 juss cause it's smaller.

Get the 400ex it should fit you good and you should like the power compared to the 300ex.

Unfortunately, there are quit a few 300EX owners who take it personally when the feebleness (comparitively speaking) of their machine is brought up. This doesn't alter the fact that the 300 is a pretty tame quad. If you want something mellow, yet sporty, then it's a great chioce. My wife loves hers.

A2000,...

no the 400ex does not have twice the power as the 300 does, and no it does not handle much better...if anything the 300 handles better, im not saying the 300 is better than the 400 but you need not complain.sure the 400 is a better all around performer, but we cannot say wich quad will be better for him...so...now that i got that over w/..godsmack..where will you be riding...if you ride in tight trails you might like the 300 better...due to the reverse, and if youre going to be riding on high speed trails or dunes and you want to jump as far and high as possible...you would go w/ the 400

ImGettina400ex,

As far as the peak horsepower goes, I'm just going by the confirmed dyno results according to ATV Sport magazine......

400ex - 26.5 peak hp
300ex - 13.6 peak hp
