How many hours or miles determines an oil change? Also what brand and weight oil should I use ?

All of that info is determined by how you use your quad. It is also in the owners manual. If you dont have one I would be glad to scan and email you the info right out of the book.

Thanks Trailboss 450. I wanted to know what was a good oil. I want to use Castrol 10-30W.The honda dealers try to sell you synthetic or the Honda oil for big prices. Also I am going to change the oil at 20 hrs. or less, the dealer in Canada said 40 hrs. Is this the right thing to do ? Text

I have been using castrol for years. Different weights for the different seasons. Summer time I use either 10-40 or 20-50. In the winter I use 5-30. I change 3 times a year and the oil coming out looks as clean as it does going in. They do tell you to use the Honda oil but so far in 1000s of miles on several quads I have never had even a hint of engine or clutch trouble!
