I have a new hour meter I want to install so I can keep track of the time the new top end has under it. The meter has two copper/gold colored connectors in the back.

Where on a 400 can I splice in to make the meter work only when the engine is running, and not when the key is just on. How should I wire it, is my question.

The only place I could hook mine up was with the key.

Is there a place you can install an oil presssure switch?
We use a swtich at work that is normally open, pressure closes the circuit so the meters will run and these switches are 3psi to close.

I not fammiliar with the 400 enough to be able to tell you where to plumb it in.
