I have discovered a person that does awesome porting on all two-strokes. I believe he is one of the best and he offers his services at an excellent price and he does the work quickly. The name is MEK Racing Engines. phone #(814)432-2916. Or you can email me at blaster668@hotmail.com and I'll pass the message on. I rode one of his ported Blasters and it was just as fast as my 240 from CT.

word of warning: porting is an art that requires extensive training from a credible enginge builder, and a vast knowledge of engines. blaster668, i'm not knocking your guy...don't know who he is. i just wanted to give my $.02. basically, you get what you pay for.

I have a ported and polished intake on my DS and yes I agree with 250argh. Porting is a art form, make sure whoever does it knows what thier doing.

yes he polishes too. He will tell you every little detail that he'll perform if you ask him. Try to call CT, Trinity, or LRD and ask them how many degrees after top dead center your ports will open. I'll almost guarantee they won't tell you a thing.

Ya but you need to look at ones reputation. CT, Trinity and LRD are all very respectable companys. Your guy may be good but he has a repution and a name that dosnt go very far. Basically i agree with 250argh, you get what you pay for....

Lots of "local" people do excellent porting jobs. Don't have to be famous to make awesome horsepower.
Reputation? Down here where Trinity is a "local," his rep isn't very good and from personal experience he'll never touch another one of my engines! I also know people that have nothing good to say about CT (another "local" here).

I have to agree with trapper. Just because a company has a national reputation doesn't mean they always do top notch work. I dont know for a fact but I bet Allan Knowles doesnt port every motor that comes thru. So how do you know some new guy just hired to do porting isn't learning on your motor. Yes your motor will run good but is it the best it could have been?
Yet some local guys may have years of experience, ports every motor himself and gets every bit of hp you want out of the motor. Nothing wrong with going to the small guy as long as you know the history.

I don't think Allen ports any of the motors anymore except those for the magazines and special customers. 1 look at an off the shelf Pro-X cyl would back that up.
