I have to say the 300EX may be a better Trail Machine but i havent rode a powerful 400yet but ive beatin a 700 Polaris in a drag.

 

i will stick with my 300ex-yes my friends can beat me in a straight line but they can't lose me in and on the trails and i pass by them when they are stuck and have to get off to push it out of the way-i just use my reverse. i also have the 400ex a arms and shocks on my 300 so i have the same suspension as the 400s now-all i lack is a little less power but they lack reverse! it is a fair trade in my book-but that is just my .02 cents!

the 250r is the King in this thread...but...I can go spend 3099 bucks for a 2002 blaster and put 2 grand in it ( the price diff between a 300 and a 400ex compared to a blaster ) and run with that 250r more than you guys...cant we all just get along!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Well I'm not putting down the 400ex. Its the first quad I've ever own and I love the quad. But I ride with modifed raptors, Banshee, DS650, So yes the 400ex is slow compared to them. I just wish it keep up to them on the roads and in the straights.

No, your 300 does not have the same suspention as the 400.
The 300 does not have the same great frame geometry as the 400,
it does not have the longer aluminum swingarm, nor the aluminum spindles.
The 400 has excellent suspention, not because of its front a-arms and shocks, but because
of the whole package.

 

The 400 is not slow you can bore it out put power kits and exausts in it and make it run with the top quads but the 400 is now in an older lower class just like the rest of the sport hondas,Its time for honda to make a new sport quad or we'll be stuck behind the pack for a long time[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img]

 

400EX MAY BE THE SLOWEST QUAD IN ITS CLASS BUT THE BEST MADE.

 

I just recently posted a thread about this, but I can run dead even with a
raptor with my 440. (stock cam) When I put a web race cam, im sure that
I will be able to walk from them. I am happy now with how much torque it has.
