I was wondering which one is best for the Money. I've heard a that the Stock Shocks for the 300EX REALLY Suck , and bottom out easily...Is that true? Are the stock 250x Shocks better or just as bad? Which is the better ATV, Like to the top speed, Power, Handling, and which is better for Trails, Mud, and Jumps? And can you put just as manny mods on the 250x and as the 300ex? Thanx , Please Reply.

HondaRyder,
I thought they were pretty much the same machine other than the 300 ex has more displacement and electric start and weighs just slightly more.
For me I would get the 300ex because the E button sure is nice when you have been hitting the trail hard all day.

Well i have road both 300 and 250 i like both there is no difference in riding 300ex might be slightly faster. You can modify the 300 more because they are still malkin them and 250 they dont make no more Go with 300ex

The 300ex and the 250x are the same machine the only difference is the 300ex has more displacement because of longer stroke but the 250x has more compression the 300ex is a little faster though. The 300ex also has electric start. Other than the slight motor changes the motor and frame are the same. I would go with the 300ex because it is newer. All aftermarket parts would work on either one.

Just keep your eyes peeled for the coming spring sell OFF in the newspaper. You should be able to pick up a nice example for $2,300. Get a good clean stock model.

I think that the 300ex is bigger than teh 250ex. I would say the shocks were about the same

AtomicAustin,
He was meaning the 250X not the 250EX. They stoped making the 250X in 1992.

Same machines only the 300ex motor is a bit different and has electric start other wise they are identical. As for the speed they are about the same. My 250x was stock and I could beat a stock 300ex in a drag.
