I like it very much except that were i live it is mandatory to have a brake lite and it does not come with it. The kit for that is 125.00 and is a hassel to install, at least 2 hrs. The suspension is a bit stiff but suppose to get smother???

For now, no problem so far

I have rode one and I agree it could be smoother but the power and feel of it is real nice.

The 450 is a great machine, and I also agree the suspension is a little stiff for trail riding, but for the way I use it on the farm its just right.I carry a 25 gallon sprayer on the rear rack with a 15 foot folding spray boom, all spring and summer and it handles it with ease.Honda needs to put preload adjusters on all its quads so they can be adjusted for each persons needs.

Mine is a 98 450S, shift with foot. It is strong and RELIABLE. No racer, but solid. I run 26" Dirt Devils with no lift, and the quad makes all the torque it takes to turn those heavy tires. The new ones have the awesome traxlock differential so you can run around in 2WD, which is just right for 90% of riding. Have heard a few criticisms of the electric shift in this forum. The S model has pegs but no floorboards. These quads have one of the greatest digital gauge packages out there. Nobody provides fit and finish to compare with Honda. I'm told there are aftermarket upgrade shocks to tame the "utility" type suspension. I'm keeping mine, despite new technology and almost $7K pricetags. I bet you'll like yours if you decide to get one.

I rode the new 2002 Foreman ES and it was awsome. 2wd\4wd that you can choose from. If you get stuck you only get stuck for a second and then your unstuck!

The brake lite goes a the back of the vtt and you have to install micro swiths at all brake lever and connect it. The bike has to be disassemble from the poot rest to the front cover. A long long very long job....

Why, in Québec that the law if you want to go on Federation trails.

Just bought a 2002 Forman for $5600. No complaints yet. Sips gas very stable and the part time 4 wheel drive is great.

I'M GLAD YOU ASKED THAT QUESTION. I OWN A 1999 HONDA 450-ES AND AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED IT'S THE GREATEST MACHINE THATS EVER BEEN BUILT. I HAVEN'T HAD THAT MUCH TIME TO RIDE, MORE OF A HUNTING VEHICIAL THAN ANYTHING. HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. IT HAS A GREAT DEAL OF POWER AND RUNS GREAT. I ENJOY TAKING MY SONS FOR LONG SLOW RIDES. I HAVE BAGGED SEVERAL DEER AND HAVE HAULED THEM TO THE TRUCK WITH VIRTUALLY NO PROBLEMS. IF I WERE ASKED WHAT ATV TO PURCHASE I WOULD HAVE TO SAY "HONDA". I HAVE NOT HAD THE FORTUNE TO SEE THE RUBICONS SO I CAN'T SPEAK AT THAT LEVEL BUT I CAN SPEAK FOR THE 450'S. THEY ARE GREAT MACHINES.

IN MY EYES IT'S HONDA ALL OF THE WAY:
