how much do i have to spend in rebuilding a 250R?
#2
Buildin' your 250R for racin' aint goona' be cheap, About $1500 I ride a 86 250R and the engine is done up well,I found its usuallly cheaper to mix and match the parts than to just get an engine kit, here is a list of most of the parts and ruff prices you need to win races, Wiseco piston $70 Rod kit $90 Crankshaft $205 plus 30 for bearings Top end gasket kit $25,bottom $28 Rad valves $129 Reeds $25 K&N filter $35 Jet kit $89 FMF fatty pipe $159 or DG natl $129 DG denton pipe $159 FMF silencer $80 Clutch kit $85 One thing to remember though is a fast quad anit much good to you if you cant keep the power on the ground,a good set of shocks is a must also you will need good set of bars nerf bars, tires ,twist throtle (If you want)Sprockets, chain, and a good set of brakes to slow it all down, there are so many diffrenet after market parts out there its hard to chose from ,but I would do some resurch of the parts read some mags and see what the best riders use.good luck
