Marshal 2-You could get the carb before getting the kit, but don't get the kit without the carb! My only other mods are a K&N and FMF pipe. Actually, I lost a bit of low end with the carb. I think I need to go to higher compression to get the low end back. BUT, the top end is furious!! The thing flat out rips!! It goes way faster than I need for a trail machine. If Honda doesn't come through with a 650EX soon, I am going to get the 440 kit and convert the 400 to a desert racer.

<< I've heard that they are incredibly hard to get properly dialed in. Most people that I know that have tried end up putting them on Ebay. >>

Quadfather I have the Edelbrock on my DS650 and it is very easy to dial in. I love it

If you plan on going with a cam You should give C&D Racing a call (308)368-7805 and ask about their new hot cams. They are really nice cams and will out last alot of other cams out their. You don't have to go with hard faced rockers or heavy duty valve springs either Plus they only run $150 with no core charge!

Thanks everybody,
The more that I read about the Quiksilver Carb the more I want it. I think that for right now I'm going to get the Carb and the Cam. In the future if Honda doesn't come out with something bigger than I'll get the Duncan 440 Kit. For right now I'm going to do the Carb and Cam.

Marshal I'll think about getting a new quad if honda puts the CR450F motor in a quad. I don't think I'll sell the Zilla just add to the collection. That would be the quad to have.

I agree Chapy! I think that I might have a hard time selling such a silly machine like the Zilla. You need to spank the Raptor though. He did not blow my quad away the other day. When I install that REV kit today he'll be smoked. What do you think Chapy? Also how about with the new Carb? He's History like all the other Dino's!! I don't care what you do to that honda. All the mods that you make, I can make to and still SPANK you. Just bow down and face it. The "zilla" is the fastest and I am second. I guess that leaves you in "THIRD" place !!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a mag that reads the edelbrock carb gives the 400ex over 2hp. A full exhaust and K and N filter only yields about 1 hp.

With the xr cam you should get stiffer springs, because my friend put one in his 400 and floated the valves and destroyed his engine.
