Most credit card will allow for a cash advance. He may be able to walk into a bank and get cash, It all depends on there limit/Credit.

calquadracer is right. Unless you also hapen to be in business where you regularily take payments with a credit card the only option is for the guy to get a cash advance. He'll have to pay a fee for this service but that's his problem, not yours.

If someone is that tight for money on buying a used ATV, make sure you get cash for all of it up front. It's better to make no sale than to sell the bike without getting paid in full.

I'd have the buyer go to Western Union, and have them wire you the money. Once they have gotten his credit request approved, the money order that they give to you will be as good as cash. If he doesn't have the credit, they will tell him no, and then you can tell him the same thing.

Check out the paypal web site. I think you can use it to accept credit cards as payment.

Wow thanks for the quick responses, do you need a credit card to take paypal.com? I am only 15 so it'd be kinda hard for me to do that, I'll let him know about western union though.

You don't need a credit card but you atleast need a checking account.

Don't let it go unless you have cash in hand. No matter what he says if he doesn't have cash that day and says he'll "get it to you" you'll never see it, contract or not. Oh yeah, make a bill of sale up too, "sold as is" and all that jazz.

don't forget the service charge for using a credit card on paypal. I think it is 2.5%. so you will have to charge more to cover that.

I tried a few years back at one of the local Honda shops to purchase a new quad on the credit card I had then because after a certain dollar amount you would get 2% of the total back at the end of the year.
The Honda shop wouldn't sell it that way so I just dropped it and wrote the check.
