tire/rim question??
#1
this maybe a stupid question, it may not be.....dunno. But when racers or any quad riders want to make the diameter of their rear tires smaller, do they buy smaller rims and smaller tires, or just leave the rims and buy a smaller tire that fits?? and why?? thanks so much! ride on....

First, decide what size of tire you plan on buying. If they make one that fits your wheel...go for it. I don't know what kind of quad you are going for. I personally prefer to have a bigger wheel, with a lower profile tire. This gives better handling in corners (no side roll from the tire). The one problem with a bigger wheel and a really low profile tire is that if you are trail riding, you tend to bang up your rims more. I think if I were going with a tire 20" or smaller, I'd use a 9" rim. Bigger rims also add more weight. But, those 8" rims look pretty goofy IMHO.
