I am wondering if anybody has heard if honda intends to introduce any kind of a sport orientated 4x4 in the near future?
I think it would be great if there were some out there other than the wolverine and scrambler.

I remeber talking to a company that was making a 4wd kit for the 400ex. They said they plan on having it ready for the Pikes Peak race of 2002 and that they are also going to try it in a Baja 1000. Thats all the info I could get.

I wish I still had there e-mail address(thats what happens whe you let nosey people use your computer).

I'm not trying to be an idiot or anything, but why in the world would you want a 4x4 quad for Pikes Peak or Baja? Seems to me like it would just add unnecessary weight. Also, it would probably take some very serious modification to make any 4 stroke competitive on the Peak.

Who said anything about Pikes Peak or Baja or four-stroke?
I want a high performance 4x4 four wheeler for high speed trail riding, mudding, and sand pit riding (jumps and hills). I have put a lot of hours on a Polaris Scrambler 400 4x4 which is the closest thing to what I want on the market right now. But, when it comes to tight jumps in the sandpit the automatic tranny reacts too slow to be very much fun in the sand pit. If the Scrambler had honda's reliability, manual tranny/clutch, and was about 55-100 lbs lighter it would be my dream come true.

88blaster,
I was talking about the 4x4 400EX kit that BONER mentioned.

I only wished Honda made it!!
You should look at Yamahas Wolverine , it makes Polaris riders nervous.

Yep, a sport 4x4 is needed! It would be nice to have something fast and fun after I pack out my elk up hunting.. then be able to slam it in 4x4 and hit a nearly dry lake bed and do some boggin and after that nail some hill climes in 4th @50MPH.. then a jump, woops and rough fast trails.. oh man would it be nice!

Bill450ES,
I think you are mixing up the Wolverine with the Banshee!

Bill must mean the Banshee, because the Wolverine poses no threat to a Scrambler. Not rying to be rude -just stating a fact. In my opinion there are only two real sport 4x4's on the market-Scrambler 500 and Scrambler 400. CT 00 Scrambler 500
