Im buying a 400ex, some people say its underpowered?

Is it okay for jumping? how big of jumps?

Im 14, how long do you think it will take me to get used to the power? Is it powerful?

How good does it wheelie? what gears?

When you floor it(any gear) doees it set you back on your seat?

Although I have never actually ridden one, I have raced a few.

The first race doesn't really count because I could "out-ride" this guy all day, but we drag raced with me on my Mojave and he was on his 99 EX. I beat him but that was just a "1...2...3 go" start so I could have jumped the line before him. The other time I raced my neighbors newphew on his 400EX and beat him in a drag race with my ATC250R. I guess none of this really helps you, but I will say that a 400EX is slightly underpowered. However, with you coming off a warrior, you are going to like it. I know the EX is superior to it in every way(except not having reverse) so you should be pretty happy with it.

The 400EX will only be underpowerd if your use to having more power or you've been riding it for alittle while. They are good jumpers and can be jumed fairly high (you can't really say how high it can be jumped because if you don't know how to land you'll bottom out much sooner than someone who is good at it). You should be use to the power within a day or so depending on your riding experience maybe more or less. It wheelies excelent, and will wheelie in every gear. No it doesn't throw you back on the seat in every gear but not too many quads will throw you back when in top gear.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA !! Sorry buddy but even a 300EX will wheelie in 5th gear, of course a 400EX will, it is possible you have not ridden one thunderpower or maybe you just didn't have enoguh seat time to be able to ride them in 5th, but it can be done with ease.

A 400EX will wheelie in 5th, thats the beauty of 4 strokes. They are so simple to wheelie compared to a 2 stroke(don't ask me why, maybe it's my preference). Actually, just about anything STOCK right now will wheelie in 5th or 6th gear, just some will require more to do it. If you can't get the front end up, pull in the clutch, give it a few revs and dump the clutch, and there you go!

iv only had the oppertunity to open up a 250big red, that thing could wheelie in 2nd LO, which i did that yesterday all the way down the road LOL, and my old dirtbike, 82' kawasaki ke 100 it sucked, hardly wheelied in 1st gear, but it could, I want a 400ex so bad, my friend(hes rich) said he will buy me one in april when the price goes down, but hes not paying for the shipping costs. Im used to speeds from 50+but not above 60mph, because my warrior didnt go that fast, and I could only wheelie my warrior until 3rd gear, barely even. To get it up in 5th gear, do you have to pull hard against the bars?

The key is to start in 3rd or so and just ride it and shift up into 5th.

Can I be your friends friend too? Tell him, all I want for Christmas is a Cannondale Moto 440. LOL I'm just kidding, and I hope that your friend isn't just saying **** out his a$$. Why would you have to pay shipping costs, arent there dealers near you?

Moderators, I left a bad word in my post and when it said to use the broswer back button, I did and took the word out, but it said you can't duplicate posts, WTF is up with that?????
