My cousin has a bone stock 250EX and me and him was debating today weather or not they make different gears to put in the rear of them, maybe to make them geared lower or higher, like they do with the sprockets of the 400's and 300's, i told him i didnt think they made such a thing and he swore up and down they did, so i need someone to settle this lil bet.

No they dont make gear kits, although, i think if a company made them, like to make your 250ex go about ..60mph ? i think they would make good money off of it cause alot of people want the speed and what not but with auto clutchs. I do know that they make cams for a 250ex, go to www.webcaminc.com and its on there

Ring and Pinion gear sets aren't available for quads because their isn't enough room in the differential housing castings to allow room for additional teeth on the ring gear or the pinion gear.
If a company came out with such a product, it would also have to have a new differential housing to make it work, and if they did that, it would surely cost more than a stock one.
Most rear differential assemblies run anywhere from 600.00 to 800.00 so I don't look for any company to go out of their way to make a product with so little demand with such a heavy price tag.

To adjust your gearing just change the diameter of your rear tires. Most popular sport tires are available in the 18-22 inch range, but measure actual circumference as the companies estimate what the tire dimensions are going to be when they mold them. My friends Ohtsu's on his 250r were actually 19" tall compared to my shredders that I had at the time which were a hair above 20". It doesn't sound like much of a difference but it will allow you to fine tune your gearing. Just try and borrow someone's tires as all of that experimenting will cost you some serious money.
