I read in dirt wheels that the rubicon is liquid driven. Can somebody briefly explain what this means and how it works?

It is a hydraulic pump that pushes "cones" into different ratios according to engine speed. It is so smooth that you never feel it shift gears. When in auto. mode, you actually have to look down to see what gear the engine has carried you to.

Even a brief description of it's operation is confusing. If you are interested at looking at abreakdown of the insides of the transmission, just run down to your Honda dealer and look at a picture of the exploded view. It will explain things by looking at it once.
This transmission will never require service. In fact, it isn't even servicable! It's a sealed unit from the factory.
