I am looking for a cheap and effective way to give my 250X some more power.... i dont want to give it a new piston or anything like that... but i was wondering what i could do to the air box and carb to up my capabilities. I thought about a pipe but i certainly dont have the money for one... does anyone know where i could get a 14 tooth front sprocket also? thanks again

Just about any mods you make to your X won't make much difference without a pipe. My brother-in-law has a 98 Warrior with a Uni-filter,DG exhaust, holes in the airbox and a jet kit. When I got my X(2 days after Xmas) it was all stock exept for a new rev limiter. We raced about a 250 yard stretch and beat me by about 5 quad lenghts. Since then I bought a Cobra Jet exhaust and new tires and a twist throttle and that was all. We raced again only this time on about 1/3 mile stretch of black top. He bet me by maybe 1 quad length. I was actually ahead of him until he hit sixth gear. It doesn't take much to make one faster, just save you money and buy a good exhaust. The cobra is great but very loud, but that is what I like, and it was only $130 for a complete exhaust. Any way good luck and spend wisely.

Thanks guys... I also thought about a new exhaust except for the money part brought me down, I dont know if it makes a difference but the stock pipe i have on it does have a bigger outlet than say a stock 300EX... I have noticed it when me and my friend compare quads, his muffler has a very small opening when mine is about 2.5 inches across the opening(rough guesstimate). Its much much louder than the 300EX too... will that make difference?? just a thought, thanks again
