Rev limiter on 250R

Does the trx 250r...specifically the 86 model...have a rev limiter? and if so what is it set at?

this is all stock

It was my understanding that they do indeed have one but it it set so high that your motor will blow before you hit it.

i heard the rev limiter was set at like 13.5 grand, but i might have heard wrong.

No manufacturer will set a rev limiter so high that you will blow up the motor before you hit it? Why do that? Rev limiters are installed to protect the engine from that very thing. THINK!!
The 250R does have a rev limiter, and it's set below 10,000. Even modded R motors with rev limiters bypassed/removed seldom go past 11,000. Why go much higher? After a certain point, any engine begins to lose horsepower. Why continue? After you start to lose power, you may still gain speed but at such a reduced rate there is no point in continuing. Shift up!

that makes sense. whatwould be the point of the revlimiter if you would blow your motor before it.

My friends 250R blew up before it hit the rev limiter.....mine will start popin and $h!t before it hits the rev limiter. Maybe ours were bypassed [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]
