I found a free service on the net that will let you look at photos taken from both sat and airplane of just about ever sq inch in the U.S. Copy and paste the following...

when you get to the general area you are looking for, use the large view buttons and the zoom in and zoom out buttons. Find your house and zoom in, you can see something as small as a person from 30,000 ft away. Good way to check out things before you drive 4 hours to some place that a friend of a friend said was a great place to go...just trying to help, have fun.

That is a good site.
I wish they would update the images since most are from 1998.
There new site: www.terraserver.com is not going to give out so much free information.

If you go to www.mapquest.com you can go to maps, type in your location, click on aerial photo. This will give you a CLEAR up to date COLOR photo that you can zoom in and out of and move around.
