I don't know about scratches but to make your plastic shine try a furniture polish like lemon pledge or something like that. I put several coats on my 300EX and it shines real nice. Dust and dirt rinse off easily as well.

The only bad thing about Plastic Renew is that you have to take the factory clearcoat off. Before you put the clearcoat on my red plastic looked white.

To keep your plastic clean all you need is some WD40 and some steel wool. You can use an SOS pad or some other fine steel wool. This trick actually works for the whole bike. You can do it on anything! It even takes off old stickers and adhesives. It works especially well on those nasty factory stickers. All you do is spray on some WD or equivalent and let it sit for little bit and then scrub it with the steel wool. It doesn't scratch the plastic at all and it penetrates old dirt like you wouldn't believe! Just try it on the areas where your legs rub a lot and you will be amazed. I really does wonders on white plastic so I suggest you try it! When you are done scrubbing just wipe it off with a clean rag. The lube gives a little shine and it takes off a lot of dirt. This works really well for get stubborn chain lube splatters off all parts of the bike too. I clean my entire bike this way.
