My Rubicon, 53 tops, 3 different times, 53 mph. Just picked up new 2002 Rancher ES 4-wd. Had it up to 26 mph already. Rented 2-wd Rancher last summer, daughter had it to 51 mph, according to it's speedo.

If you put a pipe, k&n filter on a 400ex how much speed does it gain? km/mph?

hey thunderpower, what happened to the wolvernine you were talking about getting a couple weeks ago in the yamaha forum? now your saying you are getting a 400ex? sounds like someone is full of ****. anway, piping a 400ex will not add to the top speed with the stock ignition module and gearing, on really long straightaways i have hit the rev-limiter with the stock pipe.

My Rancher 4x4 ES will max out at 51 on blacktop. The 650 is the Rincoln.

I am not sure about the speed of the Rubicon.I have one and on flat ground I have no problem getting 90km(56mph)and I know for sure that I can get 99Km(61mph)down hill with the rev limiter in.
I thought that I would verify the speed so I did so with a GPS and I got 63.8mph.It sounded like it was going to explode !!!!.The only difference from one time to the next was stock tires to 26" tires.
I have also run beside a car and was told the I was doing around 100km(62mph) So I am pretty sure that this speed is close.

thunder in the past 3 months you have said that your parents aer buying you about 5 differnt quads. you also used to have snowmobiles and quads in your signiture that you supposedly "owned" but then a few weeks later you said you were interested in buying the same quad that you earlier had said you owned and you were asking peoples opinions on it.

350 rcrdude.....i also had a 300...it could in no way come close to 50 mph...except for maybe on a good downhill....so your 300 die 50 and your rancher does 51....how come both your quads are so much faster than mine??

Another point...my speedo is WAY off...i ran on open ground for at least 30 seconds at 30 kilometers per hour according to the speedo....my gps showed 24 kph...that's quite a difference at a low speed....so if any of you guys are trusting your speedo, or going by Honda's specs, then that could account for some of the high speeds indicated.
