I still have the oem tires on and it still doesnt perform any better. The steering is a little lighter but thats it.

Yeah, you have a point there....some say that the more aggressive tires will prevent the diff from doing its job...it's not doing it anyway, so yeah, i think i'm gonna get more aggressive tires too.

Rancher; 53 mph (gps etrex legend) more than once. 51 mph seemes to be the NORM on pure flat ground. I still always click in at over 50 mph and have never adjusted the valves with over 1300 miles. I must have got one of the GOOD ONE's. (stock tires 25x11x10's rear) I have 2x4 and it has different ratio gears than the 4x4. I have only rode up to 1200 feet elevation, thats nothing compared to some, so check all carb setting !!!!!

thanks HONDA

Logleaper....53 mph....that's great....you tell me it's with your etrex so i'll trust that!!....i think that's a great gps....i sure would be happy with 50 mph if i could get there....i suspect that yours being a 2WD accounts for a couple of mph at least...does the 2x4 really have different gear rations than the 4x4?....i didn't know that...you say that you never have had your valves adjusted.....do you mean even initially after your engine was broke in?....thanks for the info...

Text I know the honda 300 does better than 30 mph. I have a 1995 trx 300 4x4 trx90 and 1999 300ex and 400ex, and my 90 was clocked at 27 on radar and im almost 50 lbs over the recommended weight!! My 300 4x4 will kill it in 4th gear let alone 5th. The speeds for the 300ex and 400ex are accurate also!!

stock rubicon 625Lbs ready to ride. Usually hits 88-93km/h (54.7-57.8mph)with me on it 205pounds One day with a little wind on my brothers back (he weighs 130pounds) it hit 97km/h (60.3mph) In the summer it will go 92km/h with 55 pounds of rocks, me and my brother (total load 400 pounds)

It felt fast to me when new. Now I'm getting a Honda XR400R (weight ready to ride 279Lbs) 132km/h (82mph) top speed.
