Tested my buddies rancher last night....speedo, truck speedo, and gps all recorded 83km per hour.....51.6 mph....so that has to be accurate...his speedo is one of the rare accurate ones....when she reached 83 kph, she's miss and drop back to 80, then up to 83 again...rev limiter i assume?

51.6 mph, now you got it GC, and no I have NEVER adjusted my valves, even after break in. I will check them though this year to make sure the clearance is not to excessive, surely by performance its still apparently not out of spec....Also the 2x4 does have a different gear ratio, 2x4 being taller. I tried to find the gear #'s but to no prevail. I have seen them before so I know this is true.

I love this maintanence free quad !!!!!!

Enjoy riding !!!!

Scott

i know that the 2x4 has taller rear tires (stock), so that in effect would change your gear ratio...thus making it a little faster..

mine does the same thing as greatcanadians. It will do 51 on the speedo but every time the revs start to build up and i think its gunna hit 52, it just gives up and the revs drop a little.

The 250ex doesnt go 50.You put a inexsprienced rider to test it.I have a 250ex and i was next to a car going 60 and i was in fourth gear passing the car.I raced my friend who had a banchee and i won.You just have to know how to ride the 250ex.
