What tires do you all recommend for the 300ex? I do a lot of trail riding and plan to "try" and race.

 

The 20" ITP HoleShot or the Maxxis Razr if you plan to do both.

Once you get into racing completley, go with 18" TurfTamers or the new 18" HoleShot MX.

 

thanks for the "request"...I was acutally looking at the razor's and turftamers...but the turftamers wouldn't work out for trail riding very well?

 

We started out with Standard Holeshots (2ply, 21" front and 20" rear). With the smaller fronts, the steering was kind of squirly. It was just a little to quick, and you ended up oversteering in tight corners. We replaced these with Holeshot XC's (4ply, 22" front anf 20" rear). This tamed the steering down, and I am a lot more comfortable with the 4ply tires when running in the thorny desert. Plus, running 20" in the rear (vs the 22" stock), effectively lowers your gearing and gives more low end power which I prefer.
