2003 RINCON 650 Category

Would you categorize the new Rincon as more of a sport quad than utility? Or would you say that it would work well with a snowplow, and springtooth plow, and leveler drag? Just contemplating on whether it would be considered more Sport, Sport Utility, or Utility. It would seem that it will be aimed at more of a Sport Utility category. I will be buying a quad for the above mentioned duties, and have narrowed my choices down to the following: Rubicon, Rincon, Grizzly 660, and Quest 650. I should be ready to make my move this late summer or early fall! YES!! Can't wait!

I have a Prairie 650. It makes a great sport quad and a fairly adequate utility quad. Overall, I believe that the Yamaha would be the best combo of sport and utility quad. The Bombardier, Honda Rubicon, or Polaris SP700 would be my vote for utility quad. I would not discount the Arctic Cat 500i either for utility. For plowing you need weight and IRS and the Arctic Cat or SP700 would be the best in my opinion.
As for the Rincon, I believe that it and the Kawi 650 can plow snow but just not as well as the utilities. If you want the best of both worlds, the Yamaha is your bet. But the lack of IRS may affect the high center of the Rincon or Prairie 650 in plowing.
The one thing that I do not like about the Rincon is the front end. Oh sure it looks really great. But with no grill guard like on the 650 may allow it to easiy damage. And its design makes me wonder if there will be any type of aftermarket grill guards for it. But I cannot wait to see what its speed is like. It will most certainly be a fun ATV to spend the day on.

I just wanna see one, checked in with my dealer, ( rare occasion being a honda owner, it wasn't to buy parts either just getting impatient ) he said the first couple should be on a truck in a week or so, and at his door by the first weekend of next month.

It is definantly nothing even close to a "Sport" but its not just a great utility vehicle. From what I know and have heard about, it is a great Sport Utility. Great for the trailrider and for "muddin" but whens it times to pull something on bring it hunting, its right there for ya.

My dealer told me to wait on my Kawi 650 and get a Rincon. According to him it would be late June for the first shipment. But I was ready to buy two months ago. It would have been nice to consider a Rincon but then again, I am not the type of buyer that buys hot items and pays full MSRP. I may spring for another big bore next year and by then the Rincon hype may all be gone. MSRP is out now but I just don't know the price yet myself.
