#1
hey,
i have a 98 300ex and i went and got me a used carb so i broke it down and cleaned it all up real good, then i went to my local honda dealer and asked them what the stock jet size was for that year and they said it was 120 from the manual so i bought a 12 main jet and installed it in my carm i finaaly get my carb on and it runs great till about 3/4 throttal then it sounds like its flooding out. So whut do i do now? Is there a air/fuel mixture screw on my carb? i havent noticed it and iv asked some diffrent people and some say yes and outhers say no. And if so where is it at? OR does that have anything to do with it? and whut the stock adjustment i should set it to? thanks forr all the help i get ......and i hope everybody can understand whut i wrote LOL

What was your origanl carburetor set at?? If you have got the used one cleaned up like you say, it should run just as good as your original one did before it went kaput.
Your sig. says that your EX is bone stock, so set the salvage yard carburetor to stock specs, and go from there. If it still runs poorly, you still have trash stopped up in there somewhere.
Go to the parts store and buy a carburetor cleaning tub that has the solution already in it. Take your carburetor apart fully. Do not leave ANY rubber parts on the carburetor. Put it in the "tank" and let it sit there for a day or two. That's how you clean a carburetor. There is no way to clean a carburetor fully without doing that because there are passage ways that no spray cleaner can penetrate.
