there are now 6, maybe 7 lines of sport-quads faster than the 400EX

Well boys, one thing about it is, i started racing harsrambles this year and been to 3 races already and i aint downin nothing cause as long as its got 4 wheels ill ride it, but the only thing ive seen on that track are 400EX's and 250R's........i have seen 1 banshee in the past 3 race and i do have to say that thing was plum bad, but still i have seen no raptors or anything else, i am waiting to see if any Dales or Suzukis show up before the year is over, they might show up and walk all over our 400's i aint say they wont but all im say is at this track if you aint got a 400EX or 250R you are the odd man out so they must be doing somthing right

Honda knew what they were doing when they put the outdated 400 engine in a quad chasis. You can compare them to bigger engines because they are all detuned, thats why a cannondale can beat a raptor, But it shouldn't ever be like that. The cannondale shouldnt even be able to touch a raptor.

honda knows what they are doin.........even tho they are quite slow compared to newer quads, they still have huge sales numbers. they are selling the 400ex as fast as they can make them, so they are able to set back and spend plenty of time makin a new quad, cause Honda loyalist will keep the 400ex alive until then. Honda aint stupid, they know what they've got, and they're gonna use it.

I'm sure the Z400 will be a great quad, but even if the mags thought it handled like a tank, do you think they would print it, and jeopardize all of the advertising dollars Suzuki is sure to flood their magazines with?

Even though there are bigger, and faster quads out now, if you look at the shootouts, the fastest lap times are usually on the 400EX. You can only go so fast, and use so much power on a track, or on the trails.

I am quite content with my 400EX for now, but it would be nice if Honda offered a big bore sport bike.

You cant beleive anything in the magazines anymore. Who ever has the most money into the mag. wins. Just like cannondale built the quad dirtwheels wanted, fixed all the problem right away and lost to the raptor because it didnt have reverse. When it clearly won.

Hmmmmm. Not quite, both Honda dealers in my area are saying the demand has fallen way off since the magazine articles placing the Honda at the bottom on power, and no reverse.

I was at Little Sahara last Saturday down at the drag strip area. The 400ex's sat on the sidelines, unable to run with anything out there.
Makes you want to run right out and buy a new one?

Tru Tru, just like YoDaddy said

also, i agree with mxracer98, the magizines are a little money persuaded, whoever gives the most money in advertisements, will most likely come out closer to the top than they should, the c-dale, raptor comparison is the classic example.

thats a good point too truck racer, i hadnt even realized that they sales had went down much, but when you put it like that....i can see why

its not fair to compare the 400ex w/ th DS and the raptor there is about a 250cc difference in engine displacement, and do those quads dont handle as good as the 400

its also not fair to compare the cannondales w/ the 400ex....look at the 'dales high tech engine and then look at the mild output of the 400ex

i would think we should compare the 400ex with a warrior, and scramblers and the new Z because they have similar engine displacement.....BUT the 400ex kills its competition in every category...except the new Z....this is why we compare the 400ex to the larger displacement quads.......it blows its usual competition away :excluding the new 'zuki

I also dont know if we should consider the banshee a competitor of the EX either....a twin cylinder 2 stroke against a dry sump 4 valve 4 stroke?....sure they have similar displacement but its a 2 stroke...i mean c'mon...you could mod out a blaster and make it way faster than a 400ex, and besides it costs $2000+ less than the 400ex

i hope you get my drift...
