Loose the air box lid, much better performance and you don't need it.

 

Yeah, toss the airbox lid, and while you're at it, loose the snorkle too. Just put something over the snorkle hole to keep debris out.
Remember, this will affect your jetting also, but if you have a performance pipe/silencer and a aftermarket air filter, you need to let the machine "breathe" and it'll run better.

 

what do I need to do to the jetting w/ the airbox cover off? lean or richen? What's a snorkel?

On average when running without the airbox lid go up at least 2 main jet sizes.

 

2 sizes up?? I'm running a 155 right now. Don't you think that even without the cover on that 160 is a bit rich? Are your mods similar to mine? what jet settings (all) do you run? any problems?

 

I'm running an ESR310 kit with an airstryker 38mm, K&N, no air box lid, CR250 ignition, my main is a 185, elevation is 700 feet above sea level.

ok pal don't start getting to cocky here.i wouldn't want you to bite off more then your tecate can chew.your tecate will be fast but i'm not sure it will beat up on those big bore hondas quite yet.but i do know that you will be able to give them a run for the money and surprise the he!! out of alot of people .so slow down,and don't start calling people out yet.by the way call me later or whenever you get the chance.
