Question For the best of the best.

Ok heres how it is.
My friend has a 96 trx200 type 2 "trunkmobile". Its a good bike. But he wants a little more power from the motor to turn his larger tires and keep up with us sport bikes on the fireroads.
I know alot of you are going to tell him to sell this machine and get something faster or larger , but he has some kind of attachment to this machine and theres nothings wrong with that, its a great little bike.
See heres the question , he already has a k&n filter and jet kit , hes going to get a DG exhaust once the money becomes available.
Now , hes looking for a cam for it but he web cam doesn't have anything listed for this machine. They DO have cams for other atc200s which have a silimlar engine. I'm wondering if any of these cams will work in his 200?
If anyone knows your help will be apperciated.

The topend of the TRX200SX and the TRX200D/Type2's are the same as the '86-'87 ATC200X engines except for the piston, cam, and carburetor.
The cam from the X will fit the Type2.
Try Powroll, Four Stroke Tech, and Curtis Sparks for hop up parts.
[Parts from any of the 200S and '83-'85 200X engines will not work with this engine]

I am not sure about the engine mount locations between the two, He would have to check into that by finding one first.

No chance of bending the rod with that setup.
The TRX200 uses a 20mm and the 200X uses a 24mm. They will interchange without any modification except that you would have to adapt the cable operated choke to the 200X carb or use the lever operated one from the 200X.
DG also has a 24mm carb for under 200 bucks that works well on any 200 engine, but it is slightly universal. Can't remember if it comes with the cable or not. It might be worth looking into.
