scientifically speaking, the best overall mixture you can run is 28:1.the more oil you can run in your misture without fouling plugs will make the most horsepower.i run 32:1 and i've been riding and racing for 17 years and building racing motors for quads, bikes ,sleds and so on for at least that long.and i never have a problem fouling plugs as long as the jetting is correct.
so i would recommend 32:1.you can run 40:1 or even 50:1 of you so choose but you're loosing protection and horsepower.

Increasing the amount of oil too much also increases the amount of heat, and the engine cannot dissipate it as well. The hotter the engine, the lower the power too.

There is a fine line between more oil=more power.

Like I said, the newer synthetics provide PLENTY of protection even at 50:1, AND allow the engine to run cooler. So in MY opinion, you are just throwing money away using excess oil.

I pulled the top-end apart off of my 330R last winter after running it for 2 seasons on the sand.
It still had 75% of the cross hatch on the cylinder, and compression was fine.
There was even 2-stroke oil dripping off the crank in both MY and my girlfriends motors.

This was running at 42:1 with Golden spectro, and 50:1 with Amsoil 2000.
If there was that much oil left running at those ratio's, I don't see how more oil is giving you that much more advantage in sealing the rings.

I have yet to see a dyno chart showing massive gains in H.P. just because someone was running at 28:1 as opposed to 50:1

I too don't see how you would gain extra HP with more oil? From first hand experiences, you don't really gain or lose HP. BTW, I too had oil left on my crank after pulling off my top-end while mixing it at 52:1 with Golden Spectro. Oh, I want to add, stay away from Redline oils. My friend was runnning that in his Banshee. It stank real bad and quite frankly, it ran like crap. Maybe he was jetted wrong, but it was all stock so I don't know, but I'll never use it!
