No I dont work for Honda, you freaking moron.

-Chances are the 400EX will NOT be around in a few years becuase, not only have many ATV magazines stated that, but it is obvious, the 400 is the smallest of the high perf. quads out right now, so its only a matter of time until Honda takes control again.

This was written in the sport quad forum and i just wanted to see what you guys thought of this. I have checked this honda forum for about a year now on and off basically because i have wanted to buy a 400ex for awhile. This response made me think. Why would honda all of a sudden in like 2 years stop making the 400ex? It makes no sense. Just because its not the fastest in a striaght line? Doesnt have liquid cooling? That sounds so stupid. Another thing that may be good for me is that with all this hype of the z400...this may drop the prices of the 400ex and then i could get one for even less. THat would be great. Also i have one more question. When people install like 440 kits on their ex 400's....does this really hurt the reliabilty. I am basically going to do trail riding and like a little riding on MX tracks. Just looking for some responses. Thanks guys.....

Well, if the Z400 proves reliable I have no doubt that it will put a VERY LARGE dent in the 400ex sales. Plus every C-dale or Raptor sold is a potential lost 400ex sale.

Th point is that since the 400ex came out the market has got much more competitive.

Some sort of new sport model is inevitable. Who knows how soon though.

We know the 400EX will remain for the remainder of this year and probably for the better part of next year as well.

Like someone already said, a new Honda sport quad is inevitable. The bar is being raised too far for Honda to just sit back. I'd rather they take an extra year if it brought about 400EX-like reliability.

Yea, but if they would give us a hint as to what and when it will happen, it would save us at least 3 grand.

If I knew they were goeing to come out with something bigger\better, I'd keep my Honda for another year or so, save money, and still be a loyal Honda owner.

How long before Honda raises that da*n "BAR"

Later...

Honda could make the 400ex the top of the line.

Better stock suspention
Reverse
Way more power (500cc, 600cc ect)
6-speed
Make sure it goes 80mph
And still less than 400lbs.

The extra..

Reliability!

I've heard things, people. Good things!!! Keep your eyes open for the end of summer.......I love my Honda, too....almost bought a Banshee as my second quad, but I am going to wait for a few months to see if what I have heard about a new Honda sport quad is true! I doubt they are going to raise the bar. The only manufacturer RAISING the bar is Cannondale. Chances are it's going to be a detuned 650. So unless it's a two stroke, I don't want it!

I don't get it maybe you guys can enlighten me, but who cares if the 400ex is a couple of lengths behind whatever else from 0-70 your still gonna only be the same distance behind if you travel 200 yards or 20 miles. If you want a drag bike get a banshee or anything else that is a two stroke and build one! And why would Honda want to start poking bigger engines in a performance quad just what would it prove? To me I would think that a better choice would be to have something like what cannon is doing then sticking a 700 cc one cylinder engine in a frame it just doesn't make sense!

Another thing I don't understand is what people would want reverse on a performance quad for anyway to back it off the trailer?

When it came time for a decent quad again which was a couple weeks ago I bought the 400ex and yes I rode and looked at the others even had my name on the zuki but it just wasn't for me!

Again if it is a straight line go fast bike you want get a banshee, thats your best bet!

My old TRI-Z will flat out run these new four strokes and if I want to ride a wheelie at 70 thats what I take!

I hope that if honda does anything that they keep the same frame and go with an engine based on the cr450f they currently have, maybe with a few updates but nothing to drastic.

If you want something that will blow the doors off of everything stick the banshee engine in a 400ex frame and build it to your liking, that will wipe the smiles off of many a 4 stroke owners face!
