I'd take the R, but the LT has better power all around.

For all around power stock i would haft to say that the LT has a little bit more power because it has a power valve, at least the 87-92 did. The 85 and 86 LT are piles of crap. I have some friends that have 295 Honda R's and then one of my other friend has a 295 LT and the honda seems to have a little bit more power i don't know why but it just does. The Honda handles much better and LT were not bad but not up to Honda. If you were going to modify the engine to max go with the honda they have more hop up parts.

The 85-86 LT's are not piles of crap.
They might not have the power valve, but my statement still stands.
My bro has an 86 and its a really good running and stout bike.

If I remember correctly, the Honda had 36-38hp at the flywheel while the Zuki had 32.
The Honda has more aftermarket parts readily available for good prices and is easier to work on, imho.

Im afraid that is not correct.
The TRX250R was actually the slowest of the three. (LT250R, TRX250R, and Tecate4)

Thats true...But I dont think any bike can top a 250R in any way other than power. I own and love my banshee but im a big fan of honda also. The quality and reliabilty is just great... pretty much the opposite for suzuki...
