It usually consists of a new needle and 7-8 main jets. It does the same thing as buying a bunch of Mikuni or Keihin jets, but you get a kit with instructions and starting points.

It is a waste of money. Just go buy the jet you neeed. People on this board will be able to tell you hwo to jet it. Only costs like 10$ this way..

The jet kits are researched to get the optimum flow out of your system. The new needle(s) is designed differently to allow the gas to flow quicker and smoother into the head.

With a good flowing air filter, a pipe and a jet kit your bike should get quite a bit more responsive and peppier!

I think most people with modded "motors" will tell you what PRANG said.

Although a stock "motor" with the above listed will make your quad more fun to ride.

They are still a rip-off. 50 to 70 bucks for needles and jets; about $10 worth of parts.

My question is if you didn't get the jet kit with your pipe for example, how do you know that the needle taper is right for your set-up??? There can't be a universal kit, right???

In my opinion, the kit is only valid or worthwhile if it comes with a set of pipes or other type of packaged product with all parts designed to work together.

Wyo - you bring up what may be a good point...I guess. It at least gives you (me) something else to think about.

When DynoJet does their research they probably do it with the stock set up (ie: pipe, air filter, etc.) therefor getting the optimum out of it. I always thought (duh) that the new needles and springs were to get the most out of that particular carb on that particular quad.

I luckily bought one from R-O-B which has a modded motor and was getting rid of it...so I got a gooood deal.

THEMOOSE has basically the same setup as I do except his has the jet kit and I have the stock needles with Mikuni jets... and his bike was more responsive when I rode it at Lil Sahara. So then I decided to try the kit out.
