Why Polaris has so many models
#11
I was trying to say that The Foreman(400-450) series is basicaly all the same. The Rancher series is basically all the same. The only diferences between the 4 Rancher models is either:2wd or 4wd, ESP, LCD display, Floorboards, tire and wheel size, and stickers. I WAS NOT trying to say that the Foreman series is the same as the Rancher series.

I think that Yamaha and Bombardier are the on;t ones that don't have quads that are almost the same. But Yamaha still uses basically the sme engine block for there warrior, Wolverine, and Big Bear(but at least they all look very different). And since Bombardier only has 2, VERY VERY VERY DIFFERENT, quads and is only 2 years old it would be hard to make the quads with the same parts.
I don't mind having a quad that is almost the same as another. I find it makes parts cheaper, more avalible, and more stealthy(you can always slap some 500 stickers on an Arctic Cat 400 and almost no one will be able to tell).

You are going to have to buy the 500 front rack from the accessory catalog as well though to totally pull it off.

Well said mudmachine! I think polaris does the best job of any company on the sales part. Whether you think they are crap or the best thing ever invented you have to admit that there is something for everyone in Polaris. The only thing (in my opinion) that polaris lacks is a machine that can compete with the banshees, 400ex's, ds's, warriors, and 300ex's. If they would concede and make a high quality racing machine they would be top in sales. NO DOUBT! but until they do...........A 4*4 is not suppost to be the most high performance machine for a company. (scrambler)

Hehehe, Robert I remember her! I was looking at a monster Foreman on the side of the trail and I ran into the back of her. It was low speeds though, no even a scratch on my fenders. I don't even think she noticed...

mag500- I dont think that just having a race machine is going to make their sales top HONDA's. HONDA is the top selling, not just cuz of their sport quads but because they make every quad the BEST most reliable. Polaris may have something for everyone, but not quite, just a very small niche market to point out, but not huge is the Honda 90cc. I dont think polaris fills that market! just a few things that you need to look at! and dont say that polaris is the only company that has something for everyone, Honda has a 300 4x2 and 4x4, the rancher 4x2and 4x4, the 90cc, 300EX, 400EX, now the RUBICON, The RECON, foreman 400 and 450 S and ES. i would say they all fill some kind off market!
