Tires on a foreman 450s
#2
I don't own a 450, nor do I own anything equipped with BlackWaters, but I have sold many tire kits of the BlackWaters for the 450 Honda's.
I have also rideen them with many different tires. My opinion is that the BlackWater is no longer the best mud tire on the market, BUT does a good job in the mud and is by far the smoothest riding of all the mud tires available.
My 2 cents.

KNOWSALOT....just posting this here in the offchance you might visit back again - rather than start a new post....i'm not into modding my machine...if i wanted a faster bike i would have bought one in the first place...but i do want better tires on my rancher...i want something better for mud, though not strictly for mud...i was thinking 589's or Gators in stock size....what's your opinion...also, would the rancher turn 25's with NO problems?...thanks in advance.

I'm also one of those people that's not into modifications but tires are an addition to an ATV. It's a shame that manufacturers wont replace the stock 2 ply tires with either 4 or 6 ply's. The Blackwaters will be my choice when my OEM's are worn out and wont go another mile. Until then the old 2 plys will have to do. The Blackwaters are 6 ply tires so punctures would be far and few in between and as for the mud. As another wrote earlier these are not the best mud tire but for my money they are the best choice.

I'm running 6 ply 26" Dirt Devil XTs by GBC on my 450S. I get a little faster top end and more ground clearance, and the devils are great all around tires, even in snow and mud. They widen the track a few inches as well. Required no mods to the suspension.
