265 is ok for the 250 class. As far as a good builder, that is very subjective. People will argue both sides regardless of who the discussion is about. My personal opinion is that you should be happy with it. Just talk with them to give them the specifics of what you want to do and get feedback from them on what else you need to do besides the motor kit in and of itself. Things like pipe and carb setups need to be looked at also. You sure as h#@@ don't want to do this and still run the stock 34 PJ carb. Probably want to go with a 38 PWK carb.

The 265 is of course legal, that is the max cc you can go to run in the national events. You will get a 100 different answers on engine builders. Curtis Sparks is probably one of the best. Eddie Sanders cylinders are also top notch.
If you are interested in strictly R info, a better forum is this one:

Also check out K & T, LRD, etc.
Don't forget the local guy. Sometimes you can get a great running machine for a lot less and have a guy you can walk in and talk to.
Ask your friends who did their engines. I know guys that have done their own porting with a Dremel and had really fast engines.

eddie sanders makes top of the line R stuff. I had a guy named scott of pro-fab atv do my motor. Great guy and top of the line service. i had a complete motor rebuild....i mean the WHOLE thing!!! he went through the entire motor and replaced a few worn transmission parts. bored the cylinder, and did some CRAZY!!! bottom end porting. it lugs like a 4 stroke but still gets crazy on the top end without taking a poop once you get up there. turn around time was a little over 2 weeks...which i thought wasn't bad at all....just my personal opinion.

anyway check out their site....send him and e-mail telling him what you want and he'll get back in touch with you. pro-fab....tel hime adam spong told you about it.

!This wasn't a business plug for profab...just trying to help another 2 stroker out!

also...if you wanna spend a little more time...get on the macdizzy forum and talk to rick! he does crazy things to top ends!...one of the best in the business!
