I'm looking at getting the maier front plastic for my ex. i really don't care about the mounting problems that i read about. what i can't figure out is: do the replica fronts come with the side panels built in and if not do they fit well with the stock side panels?
help!

I just bought and installed the new shiny Maier yellow race cut plastic. Installation was very easy, and everyone seems to agree that it looks great.

The side panels are "built into" the front clip. I doubt a Maier front clip would fit with rear stock plastic. I haven't tried it, but after installing the plastic, I don't think it would work.

After riding this weekend with the race front, I will be ordering regular cut front plastic tomorrow. It was ridiculous, I had to stop and wipe my goggles every five minutes.

Just curious...how much did that plastic cost? I think this winter I will change the color of my quad, and I'm debating between the Fullbore and the Maier Plastic. The race cut stuff looks cool, but I think it's probably not so good in the woods/mud.

Front clip, rear clip, and tank cover were right around $280.
