I found a 2000 400ex with works triple rate shocks, nerf bars, dg bumper, WB e series silencer, msr bars, pro taper stem, razor rear tires and k&n filter and swingarm skid plate. It has cut fenders and a rip seat cover. It has been raced. I did not see any cracks or bends anywhere, started and ran real nice. This quad was a repo. Does it sound ok or would you guys pass. I can get it pretty cheap,I am curious if you guys thought this would a decent second quad. Any replies would be appreciated..

I would buy it if the price was right (no more than $4,000).I used to have a 2000 400ex and it was a nice well built quad as all hondas are. Seat covers are cheap(around $65) and the shaved plastics look cool as he11.

I would think hard about getting it. I bought a PERFECT 2001 400ex (all stock) with a claimed 4 hours on it (even the skids did not have a scratch), the 3 year honda ext. warr. for $4100. I have about 40 or so hours on it now and LOVE it. no problems and it was (is) a great value. Keep looking and I would not risk it if I were you. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies fellas, I am nervous because I don't know anything about the quad. The repo guy doesnt know how it was cared for either. But like i said it started right up sounded good, and no cracks or bends that I saw just cut plastic and torn seat cover. No leaks anywhere oil level right on. I just need to ride it to see if it tracks straight and no problem with any gears or bent axle..Any other advice, feel free to chime in..
