Maybe he hit the rear brake too hard, getting it a little sideways, then flipped?

If he was in 4WD, locking the rear end would also lock the front end, which cause the flip. If not in 4wd, I can`t see how that rear brake could cause that.

All I can say is that it's nice to see that even the pros do endovers. At least I'm not the only one that looks like a butt hole!

Somebody write to DW and ask how that happened. that'd answer all our questions.

The magazine that I have doesn't say how he flipped it. It says,"somehow had trouble crawling down a hill". You might have a different version.

The flip pics are in the front section of the rag. How he flipped it is described in the main article.

Based upon the pictures that I have seen over the years this isn't the first quad that they have flipped. This is just the first one that they reported.

I always pause to wonder when I read their magazine how the quads in the pictures always defy the laws of physics and gravity.

Based upon their log hopping photos I'll bet that they have looped a couple of those.

I agree with everyone on that fact. But maybe, like the polaris line, the front brakes and the back brakes were connected, I doubt it but maybe it happened. But all in all, he screwed up and they tried to cover it...

All full time 4x4 quads (that you can't switch in and out of 4x4) have the front and back brakes connected, so to speak, due to the driveline being connected. So if you apply the back brakes it effects the front wheels too. With the switchable full-time 4x4 quads it is the same if the machine is in 4x4.
