What are some Performance parts that are good for the 400ex(Company names). I know like air filter ect ect. But i would like to know what pipes are good. Also is the Dmc alien any good? or is it too much money for too little power. Please fill me in.
Thanks,
Mojavez400

The pro-circuit pipes are good....a friend of mine smoked a guys 400EX with it. Both of them were piped and jetted one had a yoshimura the other a pro-circuit T-4. The pro-circuit put out a better sound too!

My friend has a DMC. I wouldnt spend my money on the piece of ****. It split right where the header meets the muffler. And it doesnt really give you power for the money. If noise level is not a problem, I would go with a GT Thunder, or a curtis sparks.

It really doesn't matter what pipe you buy for the 400ex, each one will give about the same results. I know that the Yoshi pipe (which I have) is good quality, and that's why I bought it. It gave me a good gain after jetting, air filter, and air box mods. I also put a 14 tooth front sprocket on my bike, which gave me alot more bottom end pull. You'd lose about 3 mph on top end, but to me it was worth it. I can keep up with bigger/faster bikes in the dunes, and there hasn't been a hill that I couldn't climb....yet.

based on three independant pipe shootouts that i have seen in magazines and websites the curtis sparks x-4 is the best. spark's racing has an x-6 that is supposed to be better. the drawback is that it's about 500 bucks after shipping costs. in all of these shootouts the white brothers came in second but it doesn't cost to much less than the sparks pipe. if you have to have a spark arrestor in your local riding area, the white brothers pipe has one built in, where as it costs alot to get one for the sparks pipe. i'll be getting the x-6 next week.

I have the FatBoy4 pipe from Duncan. I think that it is totally everything they claim it to be. My buddy put the WB E-Series on his 400EX and I faster than him. I put complete pipes on. I think that that makes a HUGE difference. The only drawback was the $$$$$$$.
