CR500 in 250X frame, hehehe
#1
Back when I was a teenager, my buddy blew up his 250x. He's a real aggressive rider and the only reason he rode that is because it was his dads prior. Anyway, my other friend who had a Zilla at time also had a CR500 motor sitting under his work bench. After much torching, welding, swearing, then more welding, etc., it was in. Oh my, this was a scary fast machine. He did things I never thought possible. The only problem is we couldn't make it hold up. It was just too much, but, when he rode it, he really rode; pretty well too I might add. It was a funny thing. My other bud and I followed them on their quads to a pit one time. We aired that baja out so hard so many times. Then, of course we broke it. He had taken the VW around and hit this jump hard in third and sailed it, a$$ swinging out and clearing the quads that we "thought" we totally out of the way. Upon landing, the engine rpm's jumped through the roof and stayed up high. After shutting her down, and inspecting things to see what the problem was, the engine had come broken away from the tranny, and also bent the forks totally outta whack so the motor was for the most part sitting there, held up by the baja tube bumper, oozing tranny fluid everywhere. What's the point to this? Well, that CR500 powered quad pushed this bug, with us in it, with ease and real fast too. He was just back there rippin up those tires. Of course we had to go the gravel pit's main gate this time which was closed, take it apart and wait for them to get the truck. Got it to the garage, jacked up the motor so it aligned, kind of, and shoved some wood under it on the tubed bumper to hold it in place for the drive home. That was a great day.
