As my signin states, I'm from Oklahoma, I just ran a list off www.cycletrader.com for the "plains" which is my location, here is the result:

1989 HONDA 250R, many new parts. Too many to list. Bike runs great. $3750 call

1989 HONDA 250R, fresh top end, light port job, 38 striker carb, Paul Turner and LRD pipes, Paul Turner power head, work shocks, nerf bars, lots of chrome, steering stabilizer, much more, none sharper, $6000, must sell, 785-748-0729, LAWRENCE, KS See Photos

1989 HONDA 250R, many new parts. Too many to list. Bike runs great. $3750 call (636)296-4483 after 5pm (636)296-4483 ARNOLD

1987 HONDA 250R, 4Trax FMF fatty, Renthal handelbars, new top end, extra cylinder, sand tires, on wheels, widened axle, steering stabilizer, 39mm carb, $4300 obo (918)355-5733 BROKEN ARROW

1987 HONDA 250R, Four-Trax, ported head, lots of chrome, 2 axle, 39mm carb,Paul Turner pipe, custom levers, $6000 obo (918)251-2310 no calls after 9pm BROKEN ARROW

250R ex cond. LR77STU@SEMO.EDU 1986 HONDA 250r $4500 obo email for pics , (573) 450-5725

1986 HONDA 250R, brand new factory Honda plastic, lot's of new paint fresh motor, too many new parts to list, $4,500, 515-277-4986, Des Moines, Ia

1986 HONDA 250R, tough to find original motor plastic and wheels, low hours, trail ridden only, $3,600/ partical trades and cash, 712-732-7444, Storm Lake, Ia.

1986 HONDA 250R, PTRX clean, nice, fast, many new parts, spare parts come with it, wheels, tires, fenders, $3500, (618)887-9315 ST LOUIS 00220884701

So as you can see, $3500 was the cheapest 250R listed, average price would be around $4K or higher. Granted the '88 and '89 R's tend to bring a little more money but not much. And everyone knows a bone stock R that is in mint condition is more sought after than one that has a few aftermarket parts on it.

Just for grins, I then ran the list from cycletrader.com from the "western" part of the US, the 2 pages of R's that it shows the prices are actually higher than what I found for the "plains" area.
