I have a friend, he currently owns a suzuki and is thinking about getting a new small utility machine. He likes the Recon, but still insists on his Zukes, please tell me which is better in all around capability!! thanks

Well, the Recon is definitely the way to go, no ifs, ands, or buts about it! Unless he only does work with his machine, the Recon is much more sporty, probably has more power, and is a lot cheaper.

GO with Recon! Dirt Wheels(Don't really know how reliable ther're shootouts really are?) had a shootout among the 250 class 2WD atvs and the Recon won hands down. Atv's in it where the Recon, the Quadrunner, the Bayou 220, the Trailboss, and Beartracker.

Typical Honda freaks. I'll tell you the QUadrunner is the way to go. But, the Recon is an awesome machine. Not is it only larger than the Recon it can tow more, goes through mud better, so many options gears wise, probably faster. I do agree the Recon is sportier but my Quadrunner will take any Recon. At least thats from my expiriences running with Recons. A quadrunner in low could keep up with a REcon.

"A quadrunner in low could keep up with a REcon."

That may be true, in theory. Of course that's assuming you can get the Quadrunner's engine to start!

That all depends on an owner. The engine has started first time everytime. And yes it will beat a Recon in low or can get atleast close. I can get 45mph in low.

I ride with a Quadrunner. When we ride together, I ride in front of him, because when I ride behind him, I about run him over, that thing is so darn slow. It does plow snow well, and it rides pretty well. It's just too heavy for a 250.
